The City of Mesquite is again organizing one of the largest one-day volunteer efforts in the North Texas region. On Saturday, October 9, hundreds of volunteers from civic clubs, church groups and other organizations will fan out in Mesquite to perform minor home repair and yard work for residents in need. This annual event is truly one of the signature activities that showcases Mesquite’s community spirit.

The City is currently asking residents who are in need of assistance with various yard chores, painting, cleaning, repairs to their house or other tasks to submit a job request form. This is an opportunity for those residents over the age of 60 and people living with a disability, to get help with home-improvement projects.

The deadline for residents to submit their job request forms is August 13. On the inside of this edition of Mainstream, there is a job request form that can be completed and sent to the City for review.
