Winter Algal Bloom at Lake Lavon

Lake Lavon, the major water supply reservoir for the North Texas Municipal Water District, is currently experiencing a winter algal bloom. Because of this, those more sensitive to changes in water taste and odor might notice a difference in their drinking water during this time. The palatability change that results from a naturally occurring algal bloom does not alter the quality of the water provided to the cities and the communities served.
