Water Conservation Plan

On October 17, 2011 the Mesquite City Council amended its water conservation and drought ordinance to address the growing concern of the region's water supply and current drought situation. The City of Mesquite receives treated water from the North Texas Municipal Water District (NTMWD) which consists of 13 member cities and 31 direct customer cities. Because NTMWD is continuously planning for the region's population growth and water demand, it is now estimated that over 25% of future water supply for our region will come from conservation efforts. Both the City of Mesquite and other NTMWD member cities have adopted practices and regulations to conserve our limited water resources.
